Matt Freedman

Matt Freedman has a great sculpture in David Dunlap's installation at the CUE foundation.

Flash photography really works well with it, because of all the little human forms which cast shadows on the ground and each other too.

Echos of Goya, and premonitions of the Chapman brothers, this sculpture was created years before their Nazi sculptures which use many of the same methods, both compositionally and psychologically.

Matt founded a movement called Clumpism, which confuses me, because I am not sure if I am supposed to think it is funny or not. I like being confused about if someone is joking, most of my favorite people tell confusing jokes.

You can see a show Matt did at Pierogi here.
